Welcome! I’m a Chicago-based artist with a passion for animals and nature. I work in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, and mixed media.
Born in Indiana, my lifelong passion for drawing was ignited when I received a “How to Draw Dogs” book as a child. Early lessons in oil painting came from my aunt, who painted rural Midwest landscapes with Van Gogh influences.
I studied painting and fine art at Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, and later worked in Chicago as a graphic artist in advertising (print and film animation). Throughout my life I’ve enjoyed other endeavors, in music (singer songwriter) and writing (fiction). But art is my true love.
I live in Chicago with my amazing husband Tim; Max and Miyu, two black cats preparing to mount their plan for world domination; and Harry, our funny, sweet, befuddled dog. I’m pleased to be a resident at the Cornelia Arts Building, and a member of the Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists.
Please contact me for inquiries regarding purchase of original art, prints, or commissions. No solicitations, please.
